Baby's First Protest

For my visual essay, I went to the March Against Monarchy protest in downtown Greenville on March 4th. This was my first protest I ever went to because the area I’m from doesn’t really have protests around me, if you know what I mean…

Coming to college has opened doors where I can express my opinions in class projects, protests, clubs, and more.
My sorority sister, Dani, and I went to the protest together. I didn’t really know what to expect minus the stuff I’ve seen on social media. I saw people from all different types of backgrounds, coming together to fight for their freedom and democracy.
I used Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos because I have experience with taking my friends' senior pictures in high school. It’s been a minute since I’ve used it so I had to watch a tutorial to help me remember the basics of lightroom.
From this project, I not only learned how to edit pictures better, I learned how to tell a story without having any physical motion. The pictures gave emotion where you could tell a story. I also learned how to find protests around the area I’m from.
I discovered a website called Red Wine and Blue that is a community of women all over the country working together to fight tyranny.
